WHAT IS DAXPIX?
Founded in Beijing,
with an interactive platform,
and three Photo Books
published in Asia from 2009 to 2014,
daxpix became a well know
photography and motiongraphy studio
that had inspired many
talented young people by
the photo stories in books
and the moments in videos.
DAXPIX PHOTO WORKS?
My photo works
are not commercial ones, I did not
made them for any customers,
I did them all for my fans and myself.
However, they were not personal,
they were from my perspective,
created for those who had similar experience
(bad ones for example),
with the inspiring stories of the models,
through the photos to give them hope
that someday, they could be better person,
tough and with courages.
DAXPIX PHOTO BOOKS
My three photos,
The Winner Taks All, published in 2011,
Bravart, in 2014, and Dreaming in 2015,
had totally 20,000 plus copies sold
in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan
(mainland China not included).
Wang Wei, the guy in the photo
who owned six championships of bodybuilding,
currently are acting in featured movies.
But if you knew his past,
you will be thrilled by his story.
Forget about the photo rate,
it's just human nature, and they are beautiful.
The models, being actors in my photos,
they tried to tell their stories through my lens,
the suffering, the fight, and the hope,
those were a release of humanity.
In the shooting process, we planned like
we were making movies, and it was like that.
We did storyboards, shooting plans
based on the time in a day, we did
researches of shooting locations,
and we had scene set, to match the emotions
while they act in front of my camera.
The New Website
Thanks to Squarespace,
saved plenty of time for myself
from hand coding a whole new website.
I mean I already hand coded everything
of the one you are looking at,
because it's a portfolio to show my skills
and creativities, but for daxpix.com
I would focus more on the contents,
instead of the web techs.
"Clicking with people"
Clicking with people first,
then the shutter, or buttons.
This is my principle for photography,
videography or even UX design.
They are all the same, I mean,
whatever I'd create, an user interface,
a moment, or a story, they are to created
for people, who'd use it, appreciate it,
or being touched by it.
People is always the center.

The Old Website
We built the original website in 2009,
back when "responsive" was not even a word
describing a website that made
for multiple devices.
Well, it was responsive.
I intentionally did this because I felt
the time would come for contents being fit
from desktop web browsers
to mobile devices. You can even swipe
images by using your finger.Launch the old website
